David is a leader, curator and narrator of purpose oriented brand and commercial marketing who has worked internationally with some of the world’s leading brands and events for the last 25 years from Honda and Brawn GP Formula 1, Unicef and Laureus (Mercedes-Benz and Richemont) to Elle Macpherson Intimates, Colin Firth’s “The People Speak” social change showcase and business ventures in the sports, lifestyle and luxury sectors.

He is also an internationally recognised expert in unlocking corporate values and “brands for purpose” and a widely published writer and international conference speaker.An honours history graduate from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford David has a lifelong passion for the power of words and narrative aligned with elegant design and brands that have a positive impact on society.

His international career has included high profile CMO and global marketing directorships with Elle Macpherson Intimates, the Honda F1 Racing Team and the Laureus World Sports Awards and Laureus Foundation, divisional director with Octagon (media, digital, broadcast editorial) and the Alan Pascoe Sponsorship Group, news director with eTV South Africa and editorial director for broadcasts on national networks as well as head of communications and advisor to the CEO of the Cape Town Olympic Bid. He was the inaugural head of the acclaimed Laureus Sport for Good Foundation linking sport with positive change in projects around the world and one of the founding trustees of Fight for Peace London. He has been a sponsorship director for a high profile portfolio of leading blue chip international properties crossing athletics, rugby, soccer, basketball and motorsport and was a contributing editor to GQ Magazine SA and correspondent to W Magazine Paris.

He is a founding advisory board member to Beyond Sport, a global social change initiative supported by leading figures across sport, business and philanthropy and is a trustee of HRH The Duchess of Kent’s Future Talent initiative supporting talented young musicians.

The author of “The Tao of Weiji” an impactful observation on overcoming adversity with purpose and self, he is a student of the Advanced Diploma of Executive Leadership and Organisational Development that aims to help leaders and businesses with purpose at their centre at the NAOS Institute London and at 47, is completing his kickboxing black belt training with Genesis Martial Arts.
